Our History

The Perishable Specialist, Inc. was founded in 2001 by Frank A. Ramos and Ana M. Ramos. Together they bring over 36 years of experience specializing in the perishable industry. With this experience, their goal is to provide a “boutique” feel to Customs clearing by providing the services needed by the industry’s top importers while not loosing the “personal touch.”

Since it's inception, the company has grown to a staff of seventeen full time employees and to the grand opening of our new contemporary state of the art office located in the desirable neighborhood of Doral in the heart of Miami International Airport.

In 2003, The Perishable Specialist, Inc. was ranked #27 in Entrepreneur Magazine’s AMERICA’S FASTEST GROWING NEW BUSINESSES. This was followed in 2005 with The Perishable Specialist, Inc. making the list on HISPANIC BUSINESS TOP 500 COMPANIES.

In 2004, the company was proudly certified as a member of C-TPAT and was validated by C-TPAT in 2006.

Our latest achievement is the approval as Remote Location Filer in 2007 by Customs and Border Protection. This allows The Perishable Specialist, Inc. to provide customs clearance in ALL ports of the United States.
